This statue was cast using the traditional lost wax process, one of the oldest and most complex methods for producing high-quality bronze sculptures. After casting, the bronze blank is refined in a complex chasing process. This involves removing exhaust ducts and precisely welding multi-part pieces together. The surfaces are carefully worked with scrapers, punches, files and polishing tools to bring out the finest details such as facial features, muscles and ornaments. This process gives each figure its own individual finish, which is completed by the final patination.
